JOBS: Calgary Health Region accepting online applications
        (AlbertaIndex, July 23, Wednesday) --- The Calgary Health Region has launched a website that advertises its job vacancies and accepts online applications.         The site at www.calgaryhealthregion.ca enables staff and the public to check for job openings, apply for positions and create and edit their resumes.

According to communications executive Richard Saad, the agency’s previous paper-based system will be phased out by the fall.

“Because of the region’s size, a paper-based recruitment model is inefficient and frustrating for applicants,” said Terry Cleveland, director (Transformation Projects, People & Learning), in a statement.

“Paper copies of job postings on bulletin boards can get lost or damaged. The ability to view the job postings online ensures equal opportunity for all.”

The agency said the web-based system offers an important advantage in that it won’t lose contact with applicants who aren’t successful in one competition but may be well suited to another role somewhere else within the organisation.

“Every candidate will have a profile on the system that they can attach their resume to, or if they don’t have one, just add their work experience. They can use this profile for future employment opportunities in the region,” said Cleveland.
