(AlbertaIndex, April 22, Tuesday) --- Karen Kinsley has been re-appointed President and CEO of the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) for a three-year term, extending her leadership at the agency which began on June 16 2003. Before her promotion in 2003, Ms Kinsley, a chartered accountant, served in a number of senior positions within the CMHC and for a number of private sector real estate developers. “I am pleased to announce the reappointment of Ms Kinsley,” said Minister Solberg. “Her prior experience as President of CMHC, and her financial expertise, will continue to benefit and strengthen Canada's housing system.” He added: “Mr Plourde brings to the position extensive experience in urban development and real estate.” Mr Plourde, who replaced Alexander Werzberger, has been the President of Groupe immobilier de Montréal Inc, one of Montréal's largest commercial real estate companies, since 2001. He is active within the commercial real estate industry as a member of the Urban Development Institute of Québec and the Association of Real Estate Agents and Brokers. As Canada’s national housing agency, CMHC draws on more than 60 years of experience to help Canadians access a variety of quality, environmentally sustainable, and affordable homes. |
