ENERGY: Home Depot to offer SonnenEnergy’s market solar systems
(AlbertaIndex, March 12, Wednesday) --- SonnenEnergy Corporation, a solar power systems integrator and solar power producer, said it has agreed to design, supply and install photovoltaic solar power systems for The Home Depot customers in Canada.

SonnenEnergy will provide the retailer’s customers with supply, design and installation services for photovoltaic solar power systems. With existing operations in Germany, SonnenEnergy is expanding to take advantage of opportunities in North America.

Over the last three years, SonnenEnergy has installed photovoltaic solar power systems with total capacity in excess of 4,000 kWp. The company owns and operates a solar park in Germany.

The market for photovoltaic solar power systems is being driven, in part, by initiatives designed to promote and encourage greater use of renewable energy sources.

SonnenEnergy’s president and CEO Sudhir Morar said: “This agreement represents a tremendous opportunity for us as we expand our operations in North America. The Home Depot is Canada’s pre-eminent home-improvement retailer and we are delighted to be associated with such a progressive company that shares our commitment to environmentally-responsible corporate citizenship.”

One such initiative is the Ontario government’s ‘Go Green’ climate change strategy. The strategy, announced in June 2007, includes plans to help Ontario residents meet the Government's target of 100,000 installed residential solar systems.
