| CONFERENCE: Canadian Petroleum Institute to hold climate change seminar |

(AlbertaIndex, November 26, Monday) --- The Canadian Petroleum Institute (CPI) is organizing a seminar on climate change in Calgary next January 15. It has lined up four speakers for the event entitled, “Carbon, Cash and Climate: How much change will we get?” They include: - Dr Mark Jaccard, PhD Professor of Resource and Environmental Management at SFU; Former Chairman, BC Utilities Commission. - Dr. David Keith, PhD Director of the Institute for Sustainable Energy, Environment and Economy, U of C; Canadian Geographic’s Environmental Scientist of the Year 2006. - Dr Andrew Weaver, PhD Canada Research Chair in Climate Modelling and Analysis, UVic; Chief Editor, Journal of Climate. Dr Rick Hyndman, Senior Policy Advisor for the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, will moderate the seminar which will be held at the Delta Bow Valley Hotel from 8 am to 4 pm. This workshop aims to bring together experts in various aspects of climate science and policy to discuss topics relating to the effect of greenhouse gases on climate, and the strategies and costs of addressing this urgent problem.
