| ENERGY: Husky Energy awarded licences to explore in offshore Greenland |

(AlbertaIndex, June 22, Friday) --- Calgary-based Husky Energy Inc said it has been awarded licences to explore in Block 5 (2007-22) and Block 7 (2007-24) off the coast of Greenland. The awards, announced by Husky President and CEO John Lau, were made during the recent West Disko 2006 Licensing Round. The two blocks covering an area of 21,067 sq km are located approximately 120 km offshore the west coast of Disko Island in water depths of less than 500 metres.“Our experience operating in the North Atlantic offshore Newfoundland and Labrador has positioned us for the challenges in exploring this new frontier area,” said Mr Lau. “Husky is excited with this offshore Greenland opportunity and will commence an aero-gravity and magnetic survey over the blocks this summer.” Husky Energy, an integrated energy company headquartered in Calgary, is publicly traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol HSE. |
