HOUSING: Genesis acquires 617-acre land parcel in Calgary metropolitan area near airport

            (AlbertaIndex, July 11, Wednesday) --- Genesis Land Development Corp said it has paid $31.385 million to acquire a 617-acre land parcel adjacent to the hamlet of Delacour in northeast of Calgary and within 10 minutes of driving time from the Calgary International Airport.
 

 
TRANSPORTATION: New international transshipment program for Calgary International Airport

            (AlbertaIndex, July 11, Wednesday) --- Calgary International Airport has launched an international program simplifying air carrier access to the city for air cargo trans-shipment. Businesses will find this an additional incentive to use the airport’s cargo facilities.

ENERGY: TransCanada says Keystone oil pipeline capacity to expand to 590,000 b/d per day

        (AlbertaIndex, July 6, Friday) --- TransCanada Corporation has announced an expansion in the capacity of the proposed Keystone oil pipeline project after the company secured additional commitments for 155,000 barrels per day of crude for delivery from Hardisty, Alberta to Cushing, Oklahoma with duration averaging 16 years. The commitments were obtained through the successful completion of a binding Open Season held to support an expansion to 590,000 b/d and extension of the pipeline to Cushing, Oklahoma.

EDUCATION: Alberta to boost scholarship fund by 35% to $851 million

            (AlbertaIndex, July 5, Thursday) --- Alberta has boosted its investment in the education of its young by more than 35% to $851 million. The additional $227 million boost to the Alberta Heritage Scholarship Fund was announced by Premier Ed Stelmach and Advanced Education and Technology Minister Doug Horner.
